Kentucky Derby Party and Charitable Dinner
Horse racing and horsepower collide on Saturday, May 4, at 6:00pm, when The Greenbrier Concours d’Elegance presents its Kentucky Derby Party and Charitable Dinner. The evening begins with a Cocktail Hour, with Kentucky Derby pre-race action displayed on giant televisions throughout the room. The Cocktail Hour — which will include The Greenbrier’s signature mint julep — will conclude with the race on the screens at 6:50pm.
Participants can also have a little fun with the race by purchasing $50 tickets with a chance to win big. Each ticket can be dropped in a box representing the number of the horse you predict to win the race. One card will be drawn from the winning box and that person will win half of the money raised from ticket sales. The other half will go directly to The Greenbrier Concours d’Elegance’s partner charities — AACA Library and Research Center, West Virginia Autism Training Center, and First Responders Children’s Foundation — will have silent auction items throughout the Cocktail Hour. Other prizes drawn from the winning box include Greenbrier getaways, Greenbrier activities and more. Tickets can be purchased in advance here, or guests can bring cash to the event to purchase at the door.
A buffet dinner filled with favorites from The Greenbrier’s award-winning culinary team will follow at 7:00pm, inside The Greenbrier’s largest ballroom, Colonial Hall. Entertainment and dancing will be available to keep guests engaged throughout the night, and the event wraps up around 9:00pm.
