The Greenbrier Spa named No. 4 spa in North America

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. — (January 19, 2022): Spas of America, the largest spa and wellness travel website, recently named The Greenbrier Spa No. 4 on its list of the Top 100 Spas of 2021. The list features spas throughout North America, and the Top 100 list represents the top 20 percent of spa resorts in the country. Included on the list are 84 spas from the United States, 13 spas from Canada and three from Mexico. Spas in 38 states and provinces are included in the list.

“We’re thrilled to once again be recognized among the best spas in North America,” said Kenette Coffman, Director of The Greenbrier Spa. “We continue to move up higher on the list, and every member of Team Greenbrier should take pride in that accomplishment. It’s not just the spa experience, but the overall trip to The Greenbrier that is so satisfying to our guests. We will continue to strive to move even closer to the top of the list in 2022.”

The list, which can be viewed at spasofamerica.com, is based on unique page views and consumer choices on spasofamerica.com. The most popular spa experiences this year included country spas, mountain spas and mineral spas, and The Greenbrier Spa is fortunate to fit into all of those categories. It also fits on the list of casino spas, which was another popular experience.

The origins of The Greenbrier Spa date back to 1778, when visitors first came to White Sulphur Springs to “take the waters” of the natural sulfur springs. They drank and bathed in the waters to help cure various ailments. For more than 240 years, the spa has remained one of the resort’s most popular activities, and the natural benefits of the minerals remain at the heart of The Greenbrier Spa experience.

“Since 1778, The Greenbrier has epitomized the ‘spa destination’ in America, when visitors from all over the region came to ‘take the waters’ of the curative natural springs”, said Spas of America president Craig Oliver. “Today, this activity-packed resort continues to be one of the nation’s favorites with relaxation rooms, sauna, steam rooms, and dedicated Greenbrier wellness professionals committed to your rejuvenation relaxation and restoration.”

In celebration of this award, The Greenbrier Spa is offering a special Spa Package this winter for guests interested in experiencing the world-renowned spa for themselves. Now through March 31, guests can book a two-night weeknight stay (Sunday through Thursday nights) for $1,250 and receive a spa allowance of $1,000 to use on services of their choice. Guests can also share the room and receive $500 each in spa allowance. Additional nights are available at a cost of $625 per night, with an additional $500 spa allowance per room, per night.

“We invite you to come in and find out why The Greenbrier ranked so high on the list,” said Coffman. “This is the perfect opportunity to enjoy The Greenbrier Spa and all that the resort has to offer, while taking in the beauty of wintertime at America’s Resort.”
