The Greenbrier Spa named No. 19 spa in North America

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. — (January 28, 2021): Spas of America, the largest spa and wellness travel website, recently named The Greenbrier Spa No. 19 on its list of the Top 100 Spas of 2020. The list features spas throughout North America, and the Top 100 list represents the top 10 percent of spa resorts in the country. Included on the list are 74 spas from the United States, 19 spas from Canada, three from Mexico and one each from Barbados, the Bahamas, Jamaica and the Virgin Islands.

“We’re thrilled to be recognized among the best spas in North America,” said Kenette Coffman, Director of The Greenbrier Spa. “It’s a tribute to our staff and the overall experience at The Greenbrier. There is a long tradition of excellence here and a lofty standard that we constantly strive to meet. Our goal is to move up even higher on the list in 2021.”

The list, which can be viewed at spasofamerica.com, is based on unique page views and consumer choices on spasofamerica.com. The most popular spa experiences this year included country spas, mountain spas and mineral spas, and The Greenbrier Spa is fortunate to fit into all of those categories. It also fits on the list of casino spas, which was another popular experience.

“There is no place in the world quite like The Greenbrier, and our spa is a huge part of our past, present and future,” said Dr. Jill Justice, President of The Greenbrier. “We pride ourselves on both the beauty of the property and the hospitality of our Team Members, and it’s why guests have returned to these mountains for more than two centuries.”

The origins of The Greenbrier Spa date back to 1778, when visitors first came to White Sulphur Springs to “take the waters” of the natural sulfur springs. They drank and bathed in the waters to help cure various ailments. For more than 240 years, the spa has remained one of the resort’s most popular activities, and the natural benefits of the minerals remain at the heart of The Greenbrier Spa experience.

In celebration of this award, The Greenbrier Spa is offering a special Spa Package this winter for guests interested in experiencing the world-renowned spa for themselves. Now through March 31, guests can book a two-night weeknight stay (Sunday through Thursday nights) for $1,000 and receive a spa allowance of $1,000 to use on services of their choice. Guests can also share the room and receive $500 each in spa allowance. Additional nights are available at a cost of $500 per night, with an additional $500 spa allowance per room, per night.

“We want to share our amazing spa experience with as many people as possible, and we know once they visit, they will soon plan a return trip,” said Coffman. “This is the perfect opportunity to enjoy The Greenbrier Spa and all that the resort has to offer, while taking in the beauty of wintertime at America’s Resort.”
