4th of July Celebration

On July 4, 1776, the United States of America was born. Just two years later, travelers journeyed to a valley in the Colony of Virginia to “take the waters” of its famed sulphur springs. That destination became White Sulphur Springs, later known as The Greenbrier.

For nearly 250 years, the histories of the nation and this iconic resort have been intertwined — from 28 presidential visits and service as an Army hospital to a secret congressional bunker and a celebrated military golf tournament. It’s why this storied property is proudly called “America’s Resort.”
