Angling opportunities abound at The Greenbrier. Howard’s Creek is a spectacular ribbon of water that flows through the heart of the resort. Let our experienced Greenbrier fishing guides take you on a trip through The Greenbrier property, where you can enjoy fly fishing for catch and release trophy trout or smallmouth bass. Fishing enthusiasts of all levels can take pleasure in the views provided by the Allegheny Mountains and the sounds of nature as the creek winds peacefully through the property. If fly fishing is not your angle, there are several lakes on the grounds that hold bass, carp, and catfish, along with various panfish.
Fishing is not limited only to the resort, either. There are numerous local streams where our guides can bring guests for a different experience. They offer the opportunity for more trout and bass fishing, and for more experienced anglers a chance to land a native trout in one of our back country streams.
For a more adventurous take on fishing, our guides can take you straight to the river! Premium scenic float trips are specifically designed for fishing or outdoor enthusiasts. Guides provide access to river sections that are remote and not pressured by regular anglers, for a private experience that can't be found anywhere else.
Many of our local rivers and waterways have sections that require special equipment and knowledge in order navigate the various shoals and rapids. An exclusive gateway to miles of backcountry waters cut deep into the Appalachian Mountains provides the angler with a truly amazing fishing experience. Fly fishing and conventional gear are provided.
Whatever your preferred species to fish — from beautiful trout to the fish of 10,000 casts, the muskellunge — the experienced Greenbrier guides have a trip to fit your needs. Both wading trips and float fishing trips are offered, ranging from a 1-hour fly fishing casting clinic to a full 6-hour day.
