Horseback Riding
Horses and The Greenbrier share an inseparable bond and a timeless connection. Early visitors who came to White Sulphur Springs arrived on horseback or stagecoach, a tradition that’s beautifully captured in the earliest photographs of the property.
That tradition continues today with the opportunity for guests to ride horseback through ten miles of trails throughout the resort, including trips to Kate’s Mountain and Greenbrier Mountain for experienced riders. From leisurely rides along the paved paths that wind around the main resort area to more adventurous escapades through the woods, every journey is expertly guided, providing a unique and unforgettable way to explore The Greenbrier’s enchanting landscape.

Policies & Must-Know Information
- Reservations must be canceled at least 24 hours before the time of the activity. Guests will be charged the full cost of the activity if cancellation occurs within 24 hours of the start of the activity.
- Riding is English style using English saddles. Riding helmets are provided for guests and are required to be worn at all times while riding. A liability waiver must be signed at Kate’s Mountain Adventures by guests aged 18 and older. Guests younger than age 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. The maximum weight for horseback riding is 250 lbs.
- Long pants and closed-toe shoes are required (jeans or jodhpurs).
