Top Notch Estate House
Lavishly decorated in traditional Greenbrier manner, Top Notch has four bedrooms, each with private bath. The luxurious estate also features a living room with fireplace, dining room, powder room, patio with fountain, glass-enclosed porch and wet bar. Top Notch is ideally suited for entertaining up to 200 guests. Private catering is also available to guests of our estate houses.
Built in 1912, the estate originally served as the private residence of George Stevens, president of the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad. Top Notch became an estate house in 1930 and was reserved for large families and special guests spending summers at The Greenbrier.
During World War II, many illustrious generals occupied Top Notch. General and Mrs. Dwight D. Eisenhower occupied the estate house in 1945. As the Top Notch legend continues, The Greenbrier's guests have the opportunity to enjoy yesterday's traditions with today's conveniences.
