Gun Club
Since our Gun Club’s inception in 1913, skeet and trap have been popular pastimes at America’s Resort. Located atop Kate’s Mountain, the Gun Club offers three combination trap and skeet fields, a ten-station sporting clays course, and private shooting lessons. The sporting clays course was designed by Justin Jones and John Higgins of the British School of Shooting and challenges shooters of all skill levels on a course that showcases the unique topography of the area. Each group of up to five shooters is provided with a Professional Trap Attendant to ensure that each shooter has a safe and enjoyable experience.
Experience 5-Stand Shooting
New to The Greenbrier in 2022 is our 5-Stand, a shooting sport that merges trap and skeet shooting. This sport features a line of five “stands” placed side-by-side and a few feet apart for the shooter, along with launches. These launches are situated on the shooter’s front, back, overhead, and sides. The shooter is then provided with five targets at each station, creating a total of 25 targets to shoot at different distances and angles. What makes The Greenbrier 5-Stand stand out is that it is completely covered and climate-controlled for all four seasons. It also is equipped with lighting for nighttime shooting events.

Shooting Lessons
The British School of Shooting has certified 3 of our instructors. We offer shooting instruction for both the advanced enthusiast and the novice or first-time shooter.

Adult & youth prices include one hour overview of gun safety and shooting techniques and include shotgun, shells, safety equipment, and vest.
The pricing above includes 6% West Virginia sales tax and 9.75% Historic Preservation Fund. Gratuity is not included.
Policies & Must-Know Information
- Reservations must be canceled at least 24 hours before the time of the activity. Guests will be charged the full cost of the activity if cancellation occurs within 24 hours of the start of the activity.
- The minimum age for target rounds is 16 years; a Liability Release Waiver must be signed by a parent or guardian who must verify & attest to the youth shooter. All shooters aged 18 and above must sign a liability release waiver before using The Greenbrier’s Gun Club facilities.
- Lessons may be provided to youth 13-15 years old, with both a Liability Release Waiver signed by the accompanying parent or guardian and verification of the age of the youth shooter. Youth shooters aged 13-15 may not use The Greenbrier’s Gun Club facilities after the lesson.
