ART WORLD LEADERS TO HOST "ART
ENTHUSIAST WEEKEND" AT THE GREENBRIER


White Sulphur Springs, WV - February 14, 2014:  The Greenbrier, the classic American destination resort in West Virginia's Allegheny Mountains, has invited top names in the art world to host the "Art Enthusiast Weekend" from March 21 - 23, 2014. A part of the first annual Discovery Series, the weekend will feature painting demonstrations, glass blowing and a series of presentations by visiting artists and art scholars are sure to entice the art lover.

Highlights of the "Art Enthusiast Weekend" at The Greenbrier will include:     

Charles Movalli Presents: Frank Lloyd Wright
Artist Charles Movalli is a great admirer of the master architect's disciplined, well organized mind, and delivers an animated lecture on his life-long hero.

Marcelo Bavaro Presents: The History of Picture Frames
Fourth- generation frame-maker Marcelo Bavaro (who was recently featured in The New Yorker's "Talk of the Town") will host a discussion of the oft-overlooked, but important role of picture frames in the art world.

Peter Trippi Presents: "Enchantment"
Join Peter Trippi, editor of Fine Art Connoisseur magazine, as he walks guests through a presentation of the "Enchantment" exhibit, which featured important 18th- and 19th-century artists alongside contemporary artists.

Artist in Action: Larry Moore
Artist Larry Moore will capture on canvas various interior scenes of The Greenbrier. Guests are invited to observe his attention to detail and techniques.

Charles Movalli Presents: What Makes a Good Painting
During this informal talk, Charles Movalli, who has received more than 50 awards for his vibrant work, will explain what makes a good painting.

Great Art is Being Made Today
Join Peter Trippi for a formal lecture as he discusses who is buying and selling the great art that is being made today.

The Greenbrier Discovery Series is a collection of eight themed weekend events hosted by industry personalities such as: design guru Carleton Varney, Curator of The Greenbrier; a team from the hit PBS show, ANTIQUES ROADSHOW and Monte Durham, celebrity wedding consultant and fashion director of Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta.
