White Sulphur Springs, WV - May 28, 2015: Officials of The Greenbrier Classic have announced that 8-time PGA TOUR winner and 2003 Masters Champion, Mike Weir, has committed to compete in the 6th year annual Greenbrier Classic.

Mike Weir will be returning to play The Old White TPC course for the third time at The Greenbrier Classic. Weir began his professional golfing career in 1992 as a Canadian sports hero. Gaining major success in his early career on the Canadian Tour, Weir won Rookie of the Year Honors in 1993 and in 1997, went on to lead the Order of Merit.

Weir joined the PGA TOUR in 1998 and within his first year, won his first PGA TOUR title in 1999 at the Air Canada Championship with a two-stroke victory. In 2000, Weir became the first Canadian to play in The Presidents Cup. He led the international team with a 3-2-0 record. After being name to The Presidents Cup for 3 years, it was in 2007 Weir won the final match play over Greenbrier Classic participant, Tiger Woods. Weir won four more PGA TOUR tournaments, but it wasn’t until 2003 when he emerged as a star with his Masters victory. This victory led him to earn the Lou Marsh Trophy as Canada’s Top Athlete of the Year and the Lionel Conacher Award, an award he was given in 2000 and 2001. After years of notable victories and charity work, Weir was inducted into the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame.

The Greenbrier Classic will take place from June 29 – July 5, 2015 at The Greenbrier, the classic American resort in White Sulphur Springs, WV.

Weekly badges to The Greenbrier Classic, starting at $129 per person, are available while supplies last.  Badges include access to the 2015 Greenbrier Classic Concert Series, featuring Keith Urban and The Band Perry on Wednesday, July 1 and Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton on Friday, July 3. Both concerts begin at 8:00 PM at the State Fair of West Virginia Fairgrounds.
