The Greenbrier is pleased to welcome six-time major winner Lee Trevino as the resort’s Golf Pro Emeritus. In his role, the jovial and witty Trevino has rapidly become a fixture in the various areas of golf on The Greenbrier’s historic, yet modern, golfing landscape and is eager and willing to share his insights into the top echelon of professional golf on both the teaching and playing levels.

A six-time Ryder Cup participant (including the 1979 Ryder Cup at The Greenbrier on The Greenbrier Course), Trevino won 29 times on the PGA TOUR and an identical 29 on the Senior Tour and was crowned the champion of six majors, with two victories each in the U.S. Open, The Open, and the PGA Championship.


Billy Winter, Golf Teaching Professional

BILLY WINTERS, PGA - Teaching Professional  |   Year-Round Instructor

Billy Winters has been a Teaching Professional at The Greenbrier since 2005 and also a teacher for Golf Digest Schools from 2003 to 2008. During this time he served as Lead Teaching Professional at the PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and here at The Greenbrier. Billy works with people of all abilities, ages and gender, including nationally ranked juniors, collegiate and mini-tour players.  During his instructional career he has provided instruction at corporate events throughout the country for clients including CNN, Morgan Stanley, UBS, Diamond Exchange, Tag Heuer and UPS. Billy has written instructional articles for Golf Digest magazine and was featured in the Breaking 100, 90, 80 articles. Billy oversees our winter season indoor instructional and practice programs including our simulator which has over 85 golf courses available for play.

Robbie Gilmore, Golf Teaching ProfessionalROBBIE GILMORE, PGA - Teaching Professional

Robbie Gilmore joined The Greenbrier Golf Academy staff in 2016 after more than 10 years at The Greenbrier Sporting Club where he served as the club’s Head Golf Professional.  This is Robbie’s second stint with The Greenbrier Golf Academy as he also served as an instructor from 2001 – 2003 when it was known as the Sam Snead Golf Academy. 

Robbie played collegiately at Jacksonville University and had a very successful playing record in PGA chapter, section and even PGA TOUR events.  During his career in the golf business he has had the chance to work with many great players and teachers like Jim Hardy, Laird Small and Jim McLean.
