Lee Trevino,Golf Professional Emeritus

The Greenbrier is pleased to welcome six-time major winner Lee Trevino as the resort’s Golf Professional Emeritus. In his role, the jovial and witty Trevino has rapidly become a fixture in the various areas of golf on The Greenbrier’s historic, yet modern, golfing landscape and is eager and willing to share his insights into the top echelon of professional golf on both the teaching and playing levels.

Mr. Trevino became just the third Golf Professional Emeritus in the rich history of The Greenbrier, following in the footsteps of the gentleman who won the most PGA TOUR wins (82) of any golfer and is synonymous with America’s Resort, Sam Snead. Tom Watson, who proudly served as The Greenbrier’s Golf Professional Emeritus from 2005-2015, is the only other professional golfer to serve with distinction in the same capacity as both Snead and Trevino.

A six-time Ryder Cup participant (including the 1979 Ryder Cup at The Greenbrier on The Greenbrier Course), Trevino won 29 times on the PGA TOUR and an identical 29 on the Senior Tour and was crowned the champion of six majors, with two victories each in the U.S. Open, The Open, and the PGA Championship.
