The Greenbrier is proud to present the Jackson Family Food & Wine Weekend!
You and yours can participate in three days filled with tastings, seminars, special guests and private culinary gatherings presented by The Greenbrier and Jackson Family Wines. It's a culinary celebration of Spring and the wines that pair perfectly with every meal.
Thursday afternoon, celebrate traditional afternoon tea in the Upper Lobby then a private welcome reception in the Crystal Room. After a Friday morning exploring our 11,000 acre playground, the Jackson Family Food & Wine weekend continues with a "Pigs and Pinot" luncheon at 1:00pm. This four-course luncheon features pork creations by the skilled chefs of The Greenbrier paired with a variety of Pinot Noirs. You'll meet the chefs as well as special guests, the three Masters Sur Lucero, Mollie Battenhouse and Tucker Taylor. Your wine educaction continues in Chesapeake Bay at 5:00pm as you learn how to blind test like a Master! Our special hosts Master Sommelier Sur Lucero and Master Wine Mollie Battenhouse guide you through a tasting of six wines and demonstrate how to blind taste like the pros! Friday night will especially be fun as The Greenbrier culinary team and our three Masters will prepare a six-course, wine paired dinner contrasting, not only the food of the Old vs. New World but also the wines as well.
Saturday's festivities kick off at 1:00pm as Master Sommelier and Certified Culinary Graduate Sur Lucero take you on an interactive journey of the five basic tastes of bitter, sour, umami, salty and sweet and how they affect your perception of wine. At 4:00pm, you won’t want to miss the art of wine blending with a seminar and tasting by Freemark Abbey. The weekend concludes with an unforgettable farm-to-table dinner and wine paring at Kate's Mountain. This unforgettably magical evening under the stars is presented personally by The Greenbrier’s Executive Chef and his culinary brigade featuring perfectly appointed courses with ingredients grown by our master growers!
